Nonprofit, 30-acre zoo set in Anchorage's boreal forest, home to animals native to Alaska and other northern climates. Since opening in 1969 it has cared for and rehabilitated thousands of animals and works with state and federal agencies, pairing conservation and research with education and community programs.
